Troubleshooting DAP Site Migration Issues

A Step-by-Step Guide to Ensure Smooth Functionality Post-Migration

When moving your Digital Access Pass (DAP) site, it’s essential to troubleshoot potential issues to ensure everything functions correctly. This guide provides detailed steps for checking configuration settings, verifying URLs, and testing user access, helping you quickly identify and resolve common migration problems.

Step-by-Step Troubleshooting

  1. Access phpMyAdmin:
    • Log into your hosting control panel (cPanel, Plesk, etc.).
    • Locate and open phpMyAdmin.
  2. Check Database Tables:
    • Select your new database from the left sidebar.
    • Look for tables prefixed with “dap_” to ensure they were migrated correctly.
  3. Verify DAP Configuration:
    • Use File Manager in cPanel or an FTP client to access your DAP installation directory.
    • Open the dap-config.php file.
    • Ensure the database credentials (database name, username, password, host) are accurate and match those in your wp-config.php file.
    • Also check domain URL in the SITE_URL_DAP field. This is important if the domain name has changed.
  4. Flush Permalinks:
    • Log into your WordPress dashboard.
    • Navigate to Settings > Permalinks.
    • Click Save Changes to refresh the permalink settings.
  5. Log Into DAP Admin Dashboard:
    • Access your DAP admin area and navigate to Setup > Config > Member Pages tab.
    • Ensure all URLs are correct.
  6. Edit Products:
    • Go to the product settings and check the Rules tab. Do this for some of your key products/courses/memberships.
    • Verify that all URLs are correct. This is important if the domain name has changed.
  7. Test User Experience:
    • Add a few test users via DAP Admin > Members > Add.
    • Check if the test users received the appropriate emails and can log in successfully to access the product.
  8. Test Payment Buttons:
    • Ensure all payment buttons appear correctly and function as intended.

By following these steps, you can effectively troubleshoot and resolve issues related to moving your DAP site. For further guidance, refer to the DAP Migration Documentation.
